Russ Brown, a VP at Trion for Heroes of Telara spoke with MMOGamer.com briefly about the upcoming game. Depite being near the top of the food chain, Russ was unable to give any new details regarding the game, but he did share what seems to be some genuine enthusiasm for the project. You can read the interview at MMOGamer.com.

» Discussion: Should grouping be encouraged?
Sep 26, 2009 - 5:02 AM - by Garthilk
I'm often reminded of the old days in MMO history, when games promoted cooperitive play. Through things like challenging content, experiance bonuses and other game mechanic based things, grouping was encouraged. Some say this dimished peoples ability to solo and therefore prevents a large audience of players from playing the game. Still others belived that the collaboration between players lead to a stronger subscriber base.

Personally, I enjoy games where I play with other players, and I tend to dislike a lot of soloing. But I wonder, has the pendullum shifted too far towards the games that encourage solo play, or has it landed in the middle?

» Custom Avatars
Sep 09, 2009 - 6:01 AM - by Garthilk
As you may have noticed, users here at the site cannot upload their own avatar, or link to a remote avatar. This is intentional and for a few reasons. Primarily, we want to maintain a focus on Heroes of Telara. Telara Source is focused on quality content that is line with the theme and style of the site and game.

That said, for the month of September and October only, users whom want a custom avatar will be able to link to an imagine and either myself or one of the other volunteers at the site will make a custom avatar to be added to the gallery.

This is a limited time offer and while we'll be adding more avatars to the choices as more images come out, this is a great opportunity to get something unique. So, simply link to the image you want for an avatar and we'll get to work.
  • Link to an image you want for an avatar.
  • Image must have no words or text.
  • Image must be appropriate to the setting and style of the site.
That's it folks. Submit your link and start with a unique custom avatar.

» Heroes of Telara Screenshots & Concept Art
Aug 27, 2009 - 2:02 AM - by Garthilk
I've updated the Heroes of Telara Wiki with new screenshots and some concept artwork. The first screenshot treat is that of a Treant. The second is a female Warrior player character. The two pieces of concept artwork are quite interesting. The first is that of a magic mine, where magic is litterally mined from the earth. The second is from the forest of Gloamwood and it shows an abandoned inn.

» Welcome to Telara Source
Aug 24, 2009 - 6:55 AM - by Garthilk
Amongst the fans that will follow Heroes of Telara, most will typically fall into one of two categories. Those whom connect with the Telara community, and those who simply go through the motions. Of course nearly everyone in group two wants to be in group one.

This is the goal of Telara Source. Our goal is to help bring people together. To create an enviroment that when Telara fans log off, they know they have taken part in something awesome. Sure there may be posters that go through the thoughtless motions of posting. However we feel there are even more that have managed to find something special. The ones that connect, those are the people that bind the Telara community and this site.

Welcome to Telara Source. I hope you enjoy the site, the game, along with the fun and anticipation that can only be experianced here at Telara Source.

Today, August 24th marks the wet paint launch of Telara Source. It means we've got the basic functionality for users to begin chatting, hanging out and having fun. It also means some features are not quite working but are in the stages of development that are good enough for showing off to the public.

If you have any questions, feedback or comments, drop us a line.
